Suffrage Record in Congress.
Letters.
August 13, 1915. To Dr. Cora Smith King, The Olympia, Washington DC.
"On my return from Birmingham, where I went to attend the funeral services of the late Senator Johnston, I find your letter of August 7th, advising me that on the evening of Aug. 15th, at eight o'clock, a public meeting of the Council is to be held in the Belasco Theatre, at which addresses will be made, and inviting me to accept a seat on the platform on this occasion.
I appreciate the invitation and thank you for same, but holding the views that I do, I would not feel justified in accepting it.
Very truly yours,
J.R. Thornton."
