The scrapbook contains newspaper clippings related to the introduction of the Equal Rights Amendment to Congress in 1943, as well as related equal rights topics about the legal, political and social status of women. (See Notes for more information on topics of newspaper articles.) The scrapbook has a green cover with an impressed decorative border design and SCRAP BOOK in gold lettering in the center. The scrapbook cover, back and pages are not bound although these all have two holes to allow for binding by string. The pages have discolored over time and the fragile pages are deteriorating with many pages torn at edges and corners.
Yellow cotton sateen banner with white painted letters reading "Working Women Need the Vote" in block capitals with a decorative design at bottom center. Banner is edged in gold-toned metallic trim. Bottom edge in decorative point and curve design has applied yellow fringe. At top are hanging loops in same gold-toned trim. Banner is backed in unbleached cotton muslin sewn to edges of banner with running and overcast stitch. Twill tape label is applied at back and twill tape loops are applied behind hanging loops at top.
