The side chair (1 of 5) is part of a nine-piece Victorian French-Style Rococo Revival parlor suite. The molded curving crest rail of the balloon-back chair is ornamented with carved Rococo motifs of a central asymmetrical cabochon flanked by C-scrolls and smaller cabochons. The chair is upholstered in green silk damask in a floral design, and the chair back is tufted and buttoned. The seat design consists of a serpentine seat rail and each knee is ornamented with a carved cabochon. The front cabriole legs terminate in wood casters, and the back legs are rounded and canted.
