Description Carved and painted wooden pedestal used to support the marble bust of Elizabeth Cady Stanton by Adelaide Johnson, 1892. The pedestal has a square top and square base connected by four tapering sides. The top bears a carved frieze with a Vitruvian scroll design. Beneath the frieze, is an egg and leaf dental moulding, a carved Acanthus leaf garland in high relief, and a recessed panel outlined with carved beads. The base is wrapped horizontally with a carved Acanthus leaf garland in high relief. The entire pedestal is painted gray.
