In the portrait, a brown-haired Mrs. Lucia Voorhees is seated on the right side of the painting looking left, and is wearing a teal dress. A brown-haired Emily Grimes is wearing a white dress with a yellow tie, and sits facing forward resting in her mother's right arm. The frame is bronzed wood.
